We needed a brand identity to visualise the way we work with clients. We went for substance before style and think it’s been worth the wait. Collaborating with super talented creative designer, Dave Sedgwick at Studio DBD, we wanted to work with a team who weren’t bound by usual corporate boundaries and colour palates. And boy, was Dave that. He made the selection process very difficult but we didn’t have to develop the concept we plumped for from very first version he presented. Here’s the thinking in his words.
“The first route is a nice contrast between contemporary and classic. The typeface has roots in finance and business, but the interesting use of the ‘co’ part enables it to stand apart. The full stop rounds off perfectly, showing with Petal & Co.’s thorough approach, there will be nothing more that a client needs.
“The design takes two petal icons. One to represent the client and one to represent Petal. Each time only two are used but cropped differently to allow for design intrigue and demonstrate the uniqueness of each client.”
